The Sensory tasting journey Via Sensoria returns from 26 March at the Cité du Vin in Bordeaux. After a successful first edition, this original and intimate tasting experience, allowing visitors to discover wines from around the world or alcohol-free drinks in unique dreamlike spaces, will once again be open to visitors to the Cité du Vin until 3 November. An artistic and digital creation designed by GEDEON Programmes and scenographer Sylvain Roca at the request of the Foundation for wine culture and civilisations, Via Sensoria takes visitors on an original sensory journey, As the seasons pass. There are some new features for this 2024 edition (choice of drinks, staging layout, etc.). An activity accessible to all, to be (re)discovered in 2024!
Designed in 2023 by GEDEON Programmes and scenographer Sylvain Roca for the Cité du Vin as part of its ambitious renewal programme, the Via Sensoria Sensory tasting journey is an artistic and digital creation that complements the cultural offer at the Cité du Vin (Permanent exhibition, tasting workshops, cultural events, etc.) by providing visitors with an intimate tasting experience far removed from conventional wine-tasting. Via Sensoria invites visitors to take a unique sensory journey, As the seasons pass. From spring to winter, from sunrise to sunset, visitors take an hour-long stroll accompanied by a sommelier-guide through four pavilions that recreate the atmosphere of each season with images, sounds, lights, smells and materials. At each stage, a glass of wine or an alcohol-free drink in keeping with the season is offered to unite the senses and give way to dreams and emotions. Available in three languages (French, English and Spanish) Via Sensoria is accessible to all (wine lovers or not, families, people with disabilities).
For its return from 26 March to 3 November 2024, Via Sensoria will continue to take visitors on a journey As the seasons pass, with a few new features compared with the first edition. For the tastings, the entire range has been reviewed, with four new wine regions to discover from around the world and a selection of four new alcohol-free drinks from Maison Meneau. The journey will appeal even more to the senses, with olfactory devices diffusing a scent characteristic of the season. A number of additions to the staging will also enhance the sense of immersion. Visitors are plunged into the heart of the video creations in summer, while in autumn and winter the focus is on the tactile, with the addition of seating that takes them even deeper into the heart of these seasons (tree-trunk seats in natural wood in autumn, soft cushions in winter). The commentary from the sommelier-guide will be enhanced by the addition of sophrology to better accompany visitors in their exploration of their senses and emotions. An experience to (re)discover.
The Cité du Vin is open every day from 10 a.m.
