After four days of exceptional precision and tactical play, Matt Wallace from England has won the OMEGA Masters 2024.
The winning celebrations were especially notable for the tournament’s title sponsor, OMEGA, as Matt Wallace is one of the brand’s golfing ambassadors. Certainly, his skills on the fairways this week were the perfect reflection of the Swiss watchmaker’s quality and commitment to success.
Matt Wallace finished at the top of the leaderboard on Sunday, ahead of some very impressive competition, which included OMEGA’s other golfing ambassadors such as Miguel Angel Jimenez, Erik Van Rooyen, Guido Migliozzi, Rasmus Hojgaard, Nicolai Hojgaard, Jeremy Freiburghaus, and Franck Kennedy.
“It’s been a very exciting summer of sport for OMEGA with our Official Timekeeper roles at the Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as the America’s Cup. Supporting the golf in Crans Montana has been another genuine highlight. We congratulate Matt Wallace on his win and thank all the players for making this year’s OMEGA Masters so memorable.”
Receiving his winner’s watch, Matt Wallace was presented with an OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra. The 41 mm timepiece is crafted in OMEGA’s exclusive 18K MoonshineTM Gold and features a PVD green dial with “teak” pattern stripes inspired by the decks of luxury sailboats. Worn on a green rubber strap, it is driven by a superb Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement, with a standard of precision that any golfer would be proud of.
Originally called the Swiss Open when it was first played in 1923, the OMEGA Masters has remained at the same venue since 1939, making it the oldest golf tournament in Europe to be played on the same course every year. OMEGA claimed the naming rights in 2001 and now considers the event to be one of the most important on its sporting calendar.
