OMEGA House Paris - Meets LA28

As the Olympic Games Paris 2024 reaches its midway point, the Official Timekeeper OMEGA is already looking ahead to the next summer edition, which will be hosted in Los Angeles in 2028. On Sunday night, a Hollywood-style celebration was held at OMEGA House Paris, attended by the world’s most decorated track and field athlete, Allyson Felix, Chairperson of LA28, Casey Wasserman, and the friends of the brand, Alisha Boe, Paul Wesley, Jesse Williams, and Chase Stokes. Other notable guests included the golfer and OMEGA ambassador Erik Van Rooyen, and the legendary Olympic Games diver, Greg Louganis.

OMEGA House is the Swiss brand’s exclusive home for the duration of the Olympic Games Paris 2024, at which OMEGA is officially measuring every event. Paying tribute to the next summer host city, the “LA28” evening was a chance to jump forward in time and build excitement for the sporting milestone, which will be OMEGA’s 33rd occasion as Official Timekeeper.

Speaking to guests, OMEGA President and CEO, Raynald Aeschlimann, said, “We began our legacy as Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games at Los Angeles in 1932. So, in a way, the LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games will feel like a homecoming for our brand. It has real sentimental value and, as you can see, we’re already looking forward to it. Casey, Alisha, Paul, Chase, and Jesse all have a great connection to that city, so we’re thrilled they could join us here to celebrate.”

Allyson Felix said, “Los Angeles is part of Olympic history. There’s the legacy of 1932 and 1984, and now in 2028, it will be the first one of my lifetime. I’m excited for it and I know the athletes will respond to the occasion. To compete in such an iconic host city in front of such passionate US sports fans is going to be a moment for every athlete to embrace.”

Chairperson of LA28, Casey Wasserman, spoke to guests about the upcoming plans for 2028, and said, “It’s very inspiring to be here in Paris and get a taste of the Olympic Games atmosphere. As you can imagine, being in the heart of the entertainment world, we know how to put on a big show in Los Angeles, so I can tell you that 2028 is going to be epic and one to remember”

Born in Norway and raised in Los Angeles, Alisha Boe is best known for her role as Jessica in the critically acclaimed series “13 Reasons Why” and more recently, “The Buccaneers.” The actress joined the OMEGA family in 2022. Speaking on Sunday night, she said, “It’s been amazing to experience my first Olympic Games, especially from the point of view of OMEGA, who clearly bring so much understanding and expertise to the sporting events. Now that I’ve been here in Paris, I can’t wait to go again in Los Angeles. It’s where I grew up and I know they’ll make it a breathtaking spectacle.”

Paul Wesley has raised his star status through notable roles in “The Vampire Diaries”, as well as “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.” The actor, producer, and director spoke to OMEGA on the night, saying, “There’s a beautiful energy in Paris right now and the Olympic Games is really bringing everyone together. OMEGA is at the heart of it all and I’m very honoured to be here. To think this same incredible spirit will soon come to Los Angeles is really exciting.”

Chase Stokes is fast becoming part of Hollywood’s next generation of elite leading men. The star of ”Outer Banks” and the upcoming films, “The Uglies”, “Marked Men”, and “Valiant One”, said, “I love being here in Paris. We’ve seen some amazing sports already and I’m really impressed by OMEGA’s timekeeping role. They’ve clearly got so much expertise in every sport. It’s getting me really excited for Los Angeles in four years.”

Best known for playing ‘Dr. Jackson Avery’ in the hit series “Grey’s Anatomy”, Jesse Williams has starred in numerous films and TV shows throughout his illustrious career including his recent Tony Award nominated performance on Broadway. The star joined OMEGA in 2022, and speaking at OMEGA House, he said, “If it’s anything like Paris, I know the Olympic Games in Los Angeles it’s going to be incredible. Take the athletes, take OMEGA timekeeping, and add some Hollywood magic. It’s going to be showtime with all the elements.”
