Longchamp Family - taking action for women with the NGO Anaka

2025-02-21

Through Longchamp Family, the House commits to causes close to its heart: support for women, for art, and for young creative talents. By working with partners such as Anaka, Longchamp is making a tangible contribution to equal opportunity, inclusion and access to training. Drawing on its Parisian heritage and its spirit of innovation, Longchamp is using its creativity to help shape a more inspiring, more sustainable future.

Since 2018, the NGO Anaka has been supporting the emancipation via employment of Madagascan women, facilitating child education and promoting environmental protection. These causes speak directly to the values of Longchamp, which is why the House has decided to partner with Anaka for the third season running, creating two new pieces that are far more than mere fashion accessories.

For the Summer 2025 collection entitled “Live Green!”, Longchamp’s teams and Anaka’s craftswomen chose to spotlight raffia, which is extensively cultivated on the island of Madagascar. The ancestral skill of weaving raffia fibers, which are both strong and supple, is passed on from one generation to the next. Derived from a variety of palm, this high-quality botanical material has a natural place in the Longchamp Summer 2025 collection, which was inspired by the positive energy of a lush, green environment.

From the vegetable patch to the market by way of a country stroll, the Longchamp x Anaka bucket hat will both ward off the sun and attract admiring glances. Its natural straw fibers, woven by hand, are adorned with a Longchamp leather label. This the perfect accessory for Parisiennes to transform an urban outing into a rural escapade.

Carried on the shoulder or in the hand, this chic take on the net shopping bag is embellished with raffia fringes that look as crisp and vibrant as a bunch of freshly picked herbs. This new edition of the Le Pliage Collection net bag combines iconic codes, originality and savoir-faire, making it one of the season’s absolute must-haves.

In 2024, the collaboration between Longchamp and Anaka enabled 40 women to work in the Anaka workshop and 66 children to go to school.

Sophie Delafontaine - Longchamp Creative Director

“When we first heard about the NGO Anaka, their initiatives in favor of the emancipation of women through employment, as well as child education and environmental protection, immediately matched with our CSR projects here at Longchamp. We are delighted to be partnering once again with these wonderful craftswomen, whose talent and savoir-faire are quite unique! Their handwork is the mark of a creativity which brings a deeper meaning to what we do.”
