Tissot strengthens its partnerships with MotoGPTM during the Grande Premio Tissot de Portugal. Guests were immersed and engaged at the heart of a MotoGP Event and first Grand Prix of the season, with various experience and activities held across the weekend. Most importantly, the Title Event saw the announcement of a new Tissot brand ambassador, Enea Bastianini, to represent the sport, and the launch of the new Tissot T-Race collection and limited-edition MotoGPTM watch.
The announcement highlights Tissot’s commitment to the world’s fastest motorcycle racing Championship, MotoGPTM, of which it is the official timekeeper. The company’s ties to that world are further strengthened by its role in WorldSBK, for which it also provides its timekeeping services. Precision is key to both watchmaking and motorsport – and in such a fast-paced world, every millisecond is vital.
MotoGPTM is the biggest motorcycle racing Championship in the world, and the oldest of all motorsport World Championships – having begun in 1949. Tissot has been the official timekeeper since 2001 and since then, motorcycle DNA has become part of Tissot. It has served as a source of inspiration to create watches that reflect the dynamic and exciting world of fast motorcycles themselves.
To honour the partnership, the first MotoGPTM watch debuted in 2003, and soon became a firm favourite among the motorsports community. In 2023, this Tissot classic has been redesigned once again – as always, celebrating the unique thrills of racing motorcycles, and containing technical features taken from the machinery.
Tissot also continues to enjoy its partnership with the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship, which gives fans the chance to get close to production motorcycles at full speed – showing off the best of street technology on the track. Tissot is dedicated to every level of motorcycle racing.
In 2023, MotoGPTM will bring us a host of new thrills as a new era begins. The introduction of the MotoGPTM Sprint will see riders get the chance to earn more points and give fans a whole extra showdown to enjoy. From the first Grand Prix of the year to the last, the Sprint will inject even more excitement into every Saturday – and Tissot will be along for the ride from the grid to the podium. In our role as timekeeper, every second counts.
After more than twenty years of collaboration, Tissot is proud and happy to expand its collaboration with MotoGP even further by playing a key role in this exciting new experience. Highlights, passion, emotions: Tissot is looking forward to the show the riders will surely stage, and we will take part in the celebrations.
Out on the track meanwhile, brilliant Ducati rider Enea Bastianini will be representing Tissot: he has been announced as the company’s new ambassador. Bastianini is blazing a trail through MotoGPTM and after a remarkable 2022 season on a Ducati with the Independent Gresini Team, where he won four races and finished third overall, he has joined Ducati Lenovo Team alongside reigning Champion Francesco Bagnaia in what promises to be a memorable and spectacular season. Bastianini is already taking prime position in Tissot’s new sports campaign.
Put all this together, and Tissot’s bond with one of the greatest sports on earth could not be any stronger.
