Automobili Lamborghini made the Asia Pacific debut for its first V12 High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) hybrid super sports car at this year’s Shanghai Auto Show, leading the industry by taking another significant step forward in their commitment to sustainability and technological innovation. The new car, named Revuelto, is the embodiment of the marque’s tradition with a new benchmark in performance, on-board technology and driver-centred experience. The ultimate thrill is underpinned by a powertrain that delivers 1015 CV total, combining the power of a brand-new 12-cylinder internal combustion engine with three electric motors, and a futuristic design with a prime weight-to-power ratio made possible by the carbon fiber materials. Alongside this ground-breaking release, the brand showcased the rear-wheel drive V10 Huracán Tecnica, the super SUV Urus Performante, as well as the Urus S displaying in Ad Personam room. These stunning line-ups, with their signature Italian design and top-of-the-line performance, made a powerful presence to the audience.
“We are pleased to present our latest achievements at this important auto feast. Lamborghini posted its best performance in terms of deliveries, turnover and profitability in 2022. This puts us on the right track to celebrate the 60th anniversary this year and usher in the second phase of the Direzione Cor Tauri program which will commit EUR 1.9-billion investment for the next 5 years to lead us towards a more sustainable future with less carbon footprints, better financial performance and enhanced brand value."
Commenting on the significance of the Chinese market as the second largest single market globally for the brand, Stephan Winkelmann added: “The Chinese market has registered strong growth in the years and will keep playing a strategic role in our future development. Our dedication here is unwavering, and we will continue to expand our presence with the extended dealer network and diversified exclusive experiences. The APAC premiere of Revuelto at the Auto Shanghai demonstrates our confidence here and reveals our strong commitment to Chinese customers.”
Just a couple of weeks after its global unveiling, Lamborghini launched the Asia Pacific premiere of the first V12 HPEV hybrid super sports car in Auto Shanghai 2023. Sitting in the heart is a new naturally-aspirated V12 engine, supplemented by three electric motors to produce a combined 1015 CV total, alongside a double-clutch gearbox that makes its debut on a 12-cylinder Lamborghini for the first time. Setting a new benchmark in terms of performance and driving experience, the Revuelto features a cutting-edge approach to the chassis and the aerodynamic design with a fully carbon-fiber front structure. An electric mode for this plug-in hybrid is available, one of the thirteen different driving modes.
The Revuelto honors the brand’s tradition and ushers in a new era with a new design language. With the futuristic design, it blends aerospace elements into the new model with a recurring Y-theme in its headlights and taillights, its large side air intakes as well as the center of the dashboard. The iconic V12 is celebrated by being on full display in the rear. The interior of the Revuelto further galvanizes the “Feel Like a Pilot” concept that creates a seamless connection between driver and machine. The Revuelto is also featuring a carbon fiber monocoque, extended all the way to the front end, creating a monofuselage that draws inspiration from aeronautics. This structure application has brought to life the revolutionary chassis with a central monocoque in Forged Composites, a far more sustainable technology than traditional manufacturing processes, taking the brand forward on its path towards environmental sustainability, while maintaining its top performance figures and its “bull” genes.
Along with the brand-new Revuelto, showcased Lamborghini’s stunning line-ups, leaving visitors in awe of the unmatched style and performance that only Lamborghini can provide. Huracán Tecnica, the latest member of the Huracán range, provides the purest Lamborghini driving experience combining lifestyle with performance on both road and track. The front and rear architectures are restructured with sharper lines to improve aerodynamics, with a naturally-aspirated V10 5.2 l engine producing 640 CV and 565 Nm torque at 6,500 rpm, bringing stability and ease in every scenario.
Another super car in the spotlight was the Urus Performante, the sporty evolution of the first-ever super SUV. With its distinctive sporty design, revolutionary use of lightweight carbon-fiber components and improved aerodynamics, Urus Performante is taking driving fun and SUV performance to a whole new level. The Urus Performante set a benchmark on Super SUV sportiness and performance by creating a new record on the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Road in 2022, highlighting its capabilities in any road and also fun-to-drive everywhere.
The Ad Personam room in the Lamborghini booth featured a Urus S, completing the portrait of the Italian company’s unparalleled product profiles and its adventurous lifestyle. The Urus S combines both luxurious versatility and presence to confirm its status as the ultimate lifestyle Lamborghini Super SUV, and elevates the reputation of Urus as the first and enduring Super SUV. The Urus S on stage boasted a paint in Viola Mithras, a customized color from Lamborghini’s exclusive customization program Ad Personam. The program aims at helping customers who want to create their cars in line with their personality and gives shape to every desire through the choice of infinite combinations, from colors to materials, from the seat logo to the initials embroidered inside the passenger compartment. Customers can be accompanied through every stage of the customization process by a team of specialists, who always respect the high-quality standards required.
The Lamborghini stand at the Auto Shanghai 2023 also dedicated an area to showcasing the brand's extension products, which drew inspiration from the unmistakable design DNA of the iconic brand. The exhibit included branded clothing lines, fine accessories, and a range of co-branded projects, all showcased within a space that incorporated Lamborghini's iconic design elements.
